FTXG and JFKV2
« on: September 28, 2013, 09:23:01 pm »
First i am aware that this beautyful scenery runs like a charm without FTXGlobal so i was a little surpriced that ORBX did not make FTXGlobal more performance friendly around this area.

My FPS drops to 15 from 35-45fps when facing New York so is there any tweak i should be aware of?

Thanks

If you see a visible difference when having FTXGlobal installed, compared to default, the most likely setting that can affect performances should be Autogen.

It's not true that a landclass product doesn't affect frame rate because "it's just new textures". If those new textures have new autogen definitions (and they have) which results in more autogen objects generated compared to the default landclass for the same area, there WILL be a performance decrease, so you might want to turn down autogen settings, especially in the N.Y. area, which is particularly heavy on autogen.

Thanks,

Setting Autogen to Normal did help a little bit. Defrag even a little more but still FPS from 20 facing NY up to 60fps

Seems like even Haswell at 4,7 GHZ with HD7970 can break the neck  ;)

Love the scenery btw.

Hi again,

just a quick status update. After switching back to Usepools=0 my HD7970 Ghz 3GB is holding a steady locked 30fps every where with FTX/ORBX Lancair night and day on Dense settings :-)

Thanks
