GSX crash after activation caused by unknow addon
« on: September 25, 2013, 08:38:16 am »
Hello,

In last days I've started having the problem with GSX activated to my MJC8 Q400 - previously everything was fine with this addon. For example yesterday I ordered "catering service", GSX was activated and the baggage loaders came to my airplane, but after a while there appeared an error and the information about created couatl.err

The strange thing is that I have got this problem since 17/09/2013, but two days ago I was able to make "deboarding" without any error. Besides yesterday I reinstalled my GSX using the file downloaded from your website and the problem still occurs - below you may find my logs from couatl.err - I will be really thankful for your help:

RuntimeError: cruise speed must be positive

This error usually indicates an error in the scenery AFCAD, like overlapping nodes, orphaned links, unconnected parkings, etc. Which scenery you used ? Have you tried at a default scenery ?

I noticed this problem in two different airports - payware scenery of LHBP by LH Simulations or the freeware LZTT scenery from the Slovakian vacc website.

I've just checked GSX at the airports, at which I have never had any problem with GSX - EPPO of Drzewiecki Design and the freeware scenery of EPWA (from Polish vacc website). It turned out that everything is ok there indeed.

Again I checked it at LHBP by LH Simulations (version inluding last patch) and have the error mentioned in the attached file. Should I reinstall this scenery? Is it possible that it will help. Previously I had the well known problem with GSX and this scenery (dissapeard objects), but my collague claims that the problem is solved after last update of GSX.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've just noticed very stange thing - the problem takes place only at the stand 273 at thescenery of LHBP by LH simulations. I checked some other nearby stand such as 270,271, 274,275, 279 and it seems that there is no problem. Furthermore I noticed that the problem at the stand 273 starts when the catering vehicle has to come to the airplane.

Is it possible that this problem is caused by the stand of parking somehow? Of course I wasn't able to check all stands, but the error was created by me at the stand 273 three of four Times in last 10 minutes.

I'll check the AFCAD, they sent me the whole scenery to evaluate.

One thing more regarding the LHBP scenery of LH Simulations - after departure "there are no parkings available ath this airport" (see attached file).

I've checked the parking 273, and sure enough, that parking has a bug, see the screenshot, the parking spot is not connected to the taxiway. I've found other problems like overlapping nodes too, GSX has some code to defend itself by such issues, but unconnected nodes are more tricky to fix automatically, it's something that must be done by the scenery developer.

Ok, I've just informed LH Simulations about your comments.

Should I understand that the previously-reported problem (see my last post) that after departure GSX informs that "there are no parkings available at this airport" is also caused by the bugs of LH Simulation's scenery?

That's possible. If an AFCAD contains errors, GSX will not load it, depending on their severity.
