Problem with Full Installer?
« on: September 23, 2013, 10:13:05 pm »
Hi,

There may be a problem with the current full installer. After it has extracted files, it states "a valid path must be specified C:\APP or UNC \\computer\path".

I think it still worked though.

Best regards,
Robin.

Surely I've run the installer before uploading it...but in any case, nothing at all has changed in the installer compared to the new version, just that it includes the new loader.

There must be something strange in your registry keys, or your temporary folder. You can activate logging in the installer this way:

- Open a command prompt  ( start -> CMD -> enter )

- go to the folder where you have the installer, for example:

CD c:\Users\Yourname\Desktop

Assuming you put the installer on the Desktop

- launch the installer with this command:

gsx_fsx_setup.exe /log=install.log

This should hopefully create a file named install.log on your Desktop. If you have it, then send it to me ( via Email, please ).

Hmm - ran normally that time. Unable to reproduce the problem.

Interestingly it did not download anything that time, either.

Best regards,
Robin.

You are not the only one, when installing I also had the valid path issue as you describe. Ran the installer a second time and it ran without issues.
