Activation Key?
« on: July 25, 2013, 04:36:51 pm »
Hello!
I just reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer and now want to activate the FSDT sceneries again.
I can either choose the "Reinstall" or the "Register serial" option, doesn't matter, it leads to the following problem:
I insert my serial number, click OK. Then I'm asked if I want to activate the product now. I press "yes". Then a window with the activation options is shown. I choose "Activate using a web browser on this computer" and click next. I'm redirected to the http://activate.esellerate.net where an activation code is shown which I'm asked to submit. Then I'm asked to enter this activation key into the product activation box in FS. BUT:
1) This activation code looks like this: XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX. I can't copy and paste that code into the form because the code seems incomplete. There should be another 26 digits (2nd line: "F"-"J")
2) Esellerate shows "Cannot process request" when I try to submit the Activation code again.

Do you know what's wrong there? If this problem is already discussed about, please just let me know where.

BTW: Activation of Los Angeles v2 worked without a problem and without the "Activation options"-Window. All the other sceneries don't.

Regards, Dominik

If you are seeing the manual activation screen, it means either your internet connection is not working OR another program such a firewall or a similar security system is blocking online access to FSX, so you must to exclude it or configure it to grant online access to FSX.

However, even the manual activation should work, although it's less easy to use the normal one, and works this way:

- Select the "Register Serial" option and put your Serial Number there

- It will ask if you want to Activate, reply "Yes"

- If there's no internet connection, a dialog will ask you what to do, select "Offline"

- A Window will appear with 3 choices, select "Activate Using a Different Computer that has Web access"

- It will show a code called "Installation ID" related to this machine.

- Go to http://activate.esellerate.net and type the Installation ID into the field. It should reply back with another long code called "Activation ID".

- Launch FS and wait again for the manual activation screen to come up. Now select "I already have an Activation Key and would like to Activate Now". Type the Activation ID you obtained from the web, and it should activate.

So far it works with all the FSDT sceneries. I've switched off Antivir completely as well as any firewall. Furthermore no application is running exept the ones that are nessecary for activation. With some sceneries it works without problems and without manual activation. These are: KLAX, Vancouver, KJFK v1, PHNL, Hawaiian 1, KFLL and KORD so far.

Even this doesn't work with the rest of my sceneries: Hawaiian 2, KLAS and KDFW. This website doesn't reply back with the Activation key, but always shows "Cannot process request" at the top of the page. Do you think the problem related to my internet connection? It is very strange: Some of the sceneries which had that problem before could now be activated a day later, some even 10 minutes later in the normal way. However all the other internet related actions such as downloads or activation processes of other developers worked fine under the same conditions..

We asked Esellerate about this, and they said some of their activation servers has been upgraded (they have many of them running in parallel) so, deepening on your ISP and how much it takes to update their DNS, the new server might take a while to show up.

In the meantime, you can try to use http://store6.esellerate.net/store/support/ManualActivation.aspx rather than http://activate.esellerate.net, we believe that will allow the activation to succeed.

Or, just wait, and your ISP DNS will eventually catch up with the changes later on.

OK, a few of the remaining activations have worked in the meantime. So I think it's best just to try it again from time to time until it all works. Thanks for your help!
