Low frame rates
« on: December 06, 2012, 02:48:29 pm »
Hi,
I'm getting low frame rates with this airport,I just got my new computer, running a I7 3930 six core 3.2 ghz,Ndvidia GTX 680 video card.
I honestly have more then enough juice to run this thing good,I have lots of airports and everywhere else  getting everything in between from 25-50 frame rates but at Chicago O'hare I'm only getting around 11-15 and sometimes drops down to like 9 what is shocks me with all the stuff I have on my system.
I'm using ULtimate traffic X at 55%.
Is there something I can do to improve te frame rates on this airport because its one of my favourite a ones to fly in and out to.  :-\

KORD is able to attract a very large number of AI, since it's has hundreds of parking. So, saying 55% of traffic doesn't say much, it's likely you have more AI at KORD at 55%, than at a smaller airport at 100%, also considering KORD is one of the busiest airports in the world, so an AI traffic schedule is surely full of them, when using realisti schedules.

The first obvious test is, what is the frame rate with 0% AI ? If it goes up significantly, at least you *know* what the problem is.

Hi,

after buying KORD for P3D I had low framerates too.
For about 5 to 10 minutes after loading the airport, my frames never got over 10fps. After a while things got better and fps raised to about 25fps which is really good at KORD.

The problem was the animated jetways for AI planes which move into position when KORD is loaded. KORD has many parking positions and the cpu load is very heavy when moving all jetways simultaneously.
I use MyTraffic3D and animated jetways are activated by default. After turning that off my frames are always above 22fps at KORD.

Regards,
Joerg
