GSX Installation Causes Couatl Force Quit & Kills other FSDT Scenery

Well GSX WORKED without any scenery addon from FSDT. Once installed FSDT Honolulu i got the error. I did try installing GSX before all other FSDT addons and it didnt help. I also downloaded and installed the standalone and nothing. I cleared all C+++ and installed them. Before i installed GSX (when it worked) i deleted the FSDT folder from the FSX folder. GSX was then the only program I installed then came the FSDT Honolulu and thats when i got the error so now im stuck again. I noticed that after i got the error, building textures were missing. I could only see the jetways, ground textures, and the black areas that the buildings go on.

You did a lot of things I haven't said you had to do. Simply install ALL the sceneries and THEN GSX using the full installer, after EVERYTHING ELSE. If you still get the error DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE, and install the Stand-Alone Addon Manager WITHOUT removing ANYTHING!!

I'm sorry, but you must have done something wrong and, as I've said, there's no reason whatsoever that GSX would work alone, but not after installing PHNL, especially if GSX has been installed last (but this wouldn't be a problem too, if you used a recent installer for PHNL), which is what is happening, according to you last description.

I'll repeat it and confirm it again: the scenery installers downloads the Couatl.exe file from the SAME place as GSX, the two files are exactly the same, it's just not possible that one would work and the other not.

Are you still getting an error from the Couatl.exe now ?

Unfortunately yes. I cant think of what the problem is. Before i reinstalled windows 7, GSX was working fine.

Well, at least you would know it's not a GSX problem. I'd say the most likely cause it's a problem with your Visual C++ runtimes, and sometimes they might be very difficult to diagnose and fix.

Not possible without knowing exactly your current situation. Are you sure you have uninstalled all VC++ 2005 runtimes and reinstalled GSX after ?

Another possible way, short of reinstalling Windows from scratch, could be REPAIR the FSX SP2 install, sometimes it fixes the VC++ runtimes.
