Pushback
« on: September 20, 2012, 10:41:45 am »
I think I already know the answer to this but I want to find out if I am correct on this matter.

Flying out of KDAY using an correctly modified afcad to reflect the correct gate assignments. During pushback out of gate B12 I have it set to push tail right, nose left...however at this gate the push turns me tail left and then procedes to back me into the gate to the right of my initial starting location.

I assume this has to do with B12 being located in the corner and since the taxi line ends at the gate the pushback cannot turn me correctly?

Did I overlook a way to preform just a straight push out?

Most likely. GSX use existing AFCAD nodes so, if there's no node in one direction, it doesn't have any other choice than using the only possible direction left. If you are willing to modify the AFCAD, it might be possible to add a node or two to be used just for the pushback from that position.

Yes, we are considering adding a simply straight pushback as an option.
