Change / Eliminate Nag timing
« on: February 02, 2012, 01:48:25 pm »
A nagging beep every 10 seconds is just too  much.  If I want to leave the service vehicles in place, or, I am in the middle of programming my FMC or doing checks with FS2Crew I really do not need GSX reminding me every 10 seconds without fail that it is waiting for my action.

Any chance this can be changed - please!

Can't you just open the door, and continue what you were doing ?

Well I could drop everything else just to eliminate the beep - why should I have to?  Every 10 seconds is just plain annoying.  Was hoping for an add on that would add to the experience, not make me a ground crew manager.  I do appreciate the trial mode though - at least I do have a choice.

Thanks.

Well, we might do something like an "Autopilot" mode, that will do everything for you automatically, but the whole idea was to give you something to *do* while parked...

How about the sound?  Could it be lowered or modified (even by the user?)  It comes across on my system very similar to system fault beep or the sound I get when EFB has issues with an airport.  If I could alter the sound or level (even at my own risk) it might not be such a deal to me.

Must be my hearing is too sensitive . . .

Thx.

Maybe it has less to do with the sound itself (however a custom sound option would be nice) or with an automatic option, but with the beep frequency.

I also find every 10 seconds too much.
Maybe you can let it not every 10 seconds beep, but 30 or 40 would be good!

Another great feture would be several sound files where you get a call from ground instead of the beep ...  ;)

Sure, it's here:

FSX\fsdreamteam\couatl\GSX\sounds\Beep_normal.wav

Keep in mind it will likely overwritten by any future installer we'll release so, you'll want to keep a backup if you modify it.

OK - that helped me - would still like to see a longer time between nags.

Bought and paid for.  :)

100% agree, every ten seconds annoys the heck out of me as well. 30/50 seconds would be great. Thanks for the wav file though, at least we can change the level.

You replied to a post dated February 2nd, the day after GSX was released, we then added the ability to customize the time between reminders, and it's there since June, look in your GSX Settings.
