Timescales
« on: August 11, 2012, 06:14:13 pm »
As we try to strive for realistic timings, a couple of suggestions...

1, Passenger times, when we ask for boarding, instead of a generic time, maybe a box allowing us to enter how many passengers we have actually loaded, so we would have to think about when is a good time to load passengers etc,

2,  Same with fuel and food.

I know we are not all going to sit and wait 2 hrs to load an aircraft,  as we can adjust the timings for passengers etc, why not enable us to enter a certain amount where we have to think about timings for departures etc, so we can meet our departures timings

That's not needed because, as explained on the GSX manual and as discussed on the forum, GSX already knows how many passengers you are loading, because it takes the payload and divides it by 220 lbs, which is the industry standard for a rough estimate of how much a passenger + luggage weights so, without having to go into an annoying step of *asking* the user how many passengers there are (which will unrealistic too, since it's not sure the user will input a value which is coherent with the actual payload), the program calculates it from the actual payload and the boarding/deboarding time IS depending from that number ALREADY.

The "generic time" slider you mention, it's just a MULTIPLIER of this, allowing to control the time relationship between passengers and time, so you can select the overall length according to your preference, but the proportion between passengers and time will always apply.

It's already like this with fuel, times are customizable but ARE proportional to the difference between the quantity on board *before* you requested refueling, and the quantity on board *after* the refueling is finished.

We might do something with the number of "trips" of the catering guy, right now is fixed at 3.
