AI vehicles issue
« on: July 26, 2012, 08:49:47 am »
I purchased KLAX the other day and the install went great. But when I run KLAX one thing I noticed is that some of the AI vehicles move thru objects and each other at times. Anyone else notice this?

AI vehicles don't have any knowledge of the outside scenery. In any case, it would be best if you made a precise example, because KLAX has both default and custom AI vehicles, and it would be helpful known were it happened.

This was on the airport grounds. I had a couple of tugs pass thru one another (initially following each other) and also saw another vehicle drive thru luggage carts on the north side of terminals near west end of field.

If they were custom vehicles, they also don't have any knowledge of each other. Nothing to be done about this. In any case, with "precise example", I meant an exact description of the problem, with lat/lon coordinates, or at least the closer parking spot.

Some screen captures. I don't have any custom vehicles. These are the ones that came with KLAX have not tweaked with any of the default KLAX settings since install. Just to add FSX settings for traffic are at: Airline traffic -25, General traffic - 25, Airport vehicle density - 40%, Land & Sea traffic - vehicles - 0%, Ships & ferries and leisure boats - 40%

You surely have, since (as I've said in my first reply "KLAX has both default and custom AI vehicles" ), they come with KLAX.

Quote
Airport vehicle density - 40%, Land & Sea traffic - vehicles - 0%, Ships & ferries and leisure boats - 40%

Since you have both default Airport vehicles and custom vehicles, and your screenshots shows a default vehicle clashing into a custom vehicle, to minimize the chance this happening, it's best if you turn down the default ground vehicles, with the Airport vehicle density slider.

As I've said, they don't have any notion of each other, so there's no way to prevent this entirely from happening, unless you turn off default vehicles entirely.

Ok, I've turned the FSX vehicles off but It still does occur just not nearly as much. I can live with it though.

Much appreciated.
