no conveyor belt, always the same vehicles
« on: June 13, 2012, 10:10:26 am »
Hi,

I'm using version 1.5.5 of GSX for P3D. It installed without errors.
When requesting the catering trucks or borading I always see the same vehicles. The container truck connects to the right backdoor of the plane, a stairway goes to exit 1 and that's it. The baggage train arrives, but drives away without loading the suitcases because there isn't any conveyor belt.
I don't use any modified aircraft gsx-files.

I tried with the following aircraft: A-218, A-319, A-320, A-321 from JustFlight and MD81 from CLS

Reinstall of GSX did not help.

 ???

Joerg

That surely not a GSX problem, conveyor belts works correctly.

As most of the vehicles, they have a limit how much low they can reach which is dependent on the model animation, and it's 1.2 meters in case of the baggage conveyor belt loader.

If the airplane cargo door is lower than that limit, either because it's like that in real life, or because of having made a GSX.CFG file which wrong heights, the vehicle will be discarded and the baggage train will arrive and then drive away.

It's possible to enable a diagnostic mode to verify this:

create with Notepad or any other text editor a COUATL.INI file in the FSX\fsdreamteam\Couatl folder which contains just this:

logFile=couatl.log

write it exactly as it is, logFile with the capital F the rest lower case, then save it as COUATL.INI in the above folder.

Run FSX once, go to an airport and press CTRL+F12, select Boarding or Deboarding, then exit and post me the content of the Couatl.LOG file that should have been created in the FSX\fsdreamteam\Couatl folder

Well, I started boarding at Duesseldorf (EDDL) with an Airbus A-321 using no special gsx.cfg (cannot find any on my PC)

Okay, here ist the logfile:

Using aircraft data from aircraft.cfg file

Ok, the log is telling this GSX is relying on the aircraft.cfg for this airplane. Is not ideal, because it's the lowest possible option but it should work in any case, probably with not very precise doors positions.

This is really strange, I don't really know what's happening, maybe it's something specific to Prepar3D, we'll have a look at it.

Do you have FSX installed too ? It might be useful to know if the same situation (same airplane and scenery) works under FSX.

Unfortunately I do not have FSX installed anymore. I will test the same situation with another aircraft.

Hi,

okay, I tested GSX with the default 737 and the default A321. GSX works fine with these aircraft.
Seems to be that the justflight Airbusses are not supported by GSX right now.

What can I do to use the aircraft.cfg from the default A321 with the A321 from justflight? I think the connections are identical.

Joerg

That's not the proper way, as I've said in my previous message, you need to use the GSX editor, which will allow to create a GSX.CFG file for that airplane, starting with pre-filled values taken from its aircraft.cfg, which you can correct. The GSX manual has a complete explanation of how to do it, with a complete GSX.CFG sample file commented line by line.
