Weird texture over Zurich's Airside Center
« on: May 18, 2012, 11:10:22 pm »
Hi guys

I have bought the FsDreamteam Zurich X Scenery a few years ago. When I installed the update 2.5 for Zurich and started FSX, to have a look at Zurich, I saw a strange, some sort of "stem" out of the Airside Center. This sort of "stem" is a few hundred feet high and appears only in Zurich. I tried it several times with un-installation and re-installation, but no change at all.
What I believe is, that it's not a problem with the graphics card because the airport itself is looking fine and has great textures, except for that "stem". Every other scenery is also looking fine, I only have this sort of problem in Zurich.
What else can I do, because I would really appreciate to continue fly out of Zurich and your scenery, because it gives me a decent frame-rate.

Thanks for the support

Greetings

This has been discussed already, and it's not a problem of the scenery, but most likely a bug of your video card driver. I was never able to reproduce it in any way, but some users have (not more than 2-3 reported it, in any case) so, it must be something related to video drivers and/or video driver settings. I guess you have an nVidia card ?

Hi, yeah I use an NVidia GeForce GTX Graphics Card.
How can I work it out, to get rid of this problem?
An another question: I wanted to change the Afcad of Geneva an Zurich with ADE 1.50, but when I compile those two airports, I can't save it, but with the other airport (KLAX) it works out!
Any ideas?
Thanks

If I had any idea what causing it, I would already pointed out a solution. Only a few users have this, and only with nVidia card, so it must be some kind of combination of video setting and driver release.

It's not very clear what do you mean with "can't save it", are you getting some kind or error ? There's nothing strange with the Zurich or Geneva AFCAD, they are 100% standard files, compiled with the official MS compiler of the FSX SDK.

Thanks for the answers, for the second question regarding the AFCAD from Geneva, when I compile the AFCAD for use in the FSX i receive this:

Maybe you have configured ADE to run in FS9 mode, but compiling an XML in the FSX format. The BoundaryFence command that gives the error, it's FSX specific, so it would generate an error when compiled for FS9.
