A couple of ommisions from the HUD

Here are a couple of things that are ommited from the HUD in the F-18.

Would it be possible to add them.

#1) Horizon Line should get longer when the gear is down and locked.

#2) The "E" bracket is missing, the "E" bracket is an indication showing how close  you are to "ON SPEED" when the gear is down.

#3) Ghost Velocity Vector - there is a ghost VV that shows your actual flight path when wind is present.


For an example of all three, have a look at the HUD picture near the bottom of this link. While this shows the SUPERBUG, it is the same in most models of the F-18

There are probably much more things omitted from the real F/A-18. Do not forget this is just one of the 3 airplanes included in a 30$ package that has also some scenery and many missions as well.

Don't forget the model featured in Acceleration is the "A" model. There was a significant avionics upgrade in the "C" model, and the E/F ( the "Superbugs" ) are so different, that might very well considered different airplanes, expecially inside the cockpit.

We tried to be as close as possible according to the original "A" flight manual, expecially for everything related to navigation modes and symbology, since we obviously don't have any weapons modeled.

Note also, that the F/A-18 is now property of Microsoft: any improvement, fix, patch or subsequent versions, can only be decided by them.
