Zurich FSX
« on: October 30, 2007, 06:03:49 pm »
Although the visuals are very impressive I seem to have a real problem which has developed since installation.
When flying in especially 2D and to a lessor degree in 3D mode the frame rates are down to 1-3 and the picture freezes
an stutters to an unaceptable degree.
I have a new high end installation, using a 2 core 2.93 ghz processor,2gb  corsair memory,card 8800 gtx extreme,etc,etc

Any comments,suggestions?

Very strange, the report on frame rate are good, please reinstall over your installation and try.

I have noticed the programme seems to be in the drivers folder and does not show
up under the menu of programmes

If you mean the installation program doesn't add any icons to the Start menu then yes, it's normal.

How would this best be done please?

Using the Control Panel, of course.

I would be glad to hear as I would want the option to reinstall when I re=downloaded from your web site

Well, you might try to re-download just to exclude the chance you got a corrupted file (which I doubt), but other than that, you can reinstall as many times as you wish, just by running the installer.

I have now used the control panel as your suggestion and regretably removed programme.
I have made sure in the driver icons its also gone.
I also just to be sure used the disk fragmentor and disk clean
however this terrible drop in FR's still persist in 2D especially (also
in 3D) lower FR's are experianced than usual at altitude in the
external view of the aircraft. It could well be a coincidence
that this happened not on the Zurich demo but when I paid
and it was activated.
I would welcome any other suggestions you may have.I have
checked the Nvidea card and that seems OK its as though
there is some very high demand on the system when FSX
being used therefore the FR's are very low its shows up
in the 2D mode especially.

ZurichX trial and retail is the same version except for the time limitation, no modification is made on scenery after the activation. Please disable Zurich on Scenery library (leave the V) and test if your frame rate return stable over LSZH

Regards.

Thank you for your very quick response.I had removed the
programme from the scenery directory in FSX (I forgot to
mention this in my last reply sorry).
I have just carried out an experiment by reinstalling
Zurich(I had made a CD just in case) to see if the first
loading had created a poor "footprint".Regrettably my
experiment has not worked.

I am now at a loss to know where to go from here.
If you have any other suggestions I would be glad to hear
I suppose I may have to uninstall all my add ons and FSX
and start again. However you may have som other
suggestion I live in hope!Thanks.
