Service Vehicles running into each other
« on: March 10, 2012, 05:29:30 pm »
I've had this issue at other major airports and reported it. I'm also having this same issue at smaller airports like KLWB (Greenbrier Valley Airport in Lewisburg WV) parked at gate 1 or 2 makes no difference. I'm there with my PMDG J4100, requesting fuel, or requesting boarding, and I get different anomaly. The pushback truck is parked directly in front and to my left waiting to see if I need him to push the aircraft back. While the passenger van runs right through him. The luggage vehicle tries to turn in front of the aircraft and back up, but he jackknife the luggage trailer.

Vehicles are not aware of their respective positions so, in some parking positions (especially the more cramped ones) they might run into each other.

Your best option is to use the Customize parking position option, and play with the left/right radius of the parking, which will change the vehicles start position.

Okay, fair enough about customize parking positions, but if you go to this airport I'm speaking about, there is no cramp space. It's all out in the open and in the middle of the tarmac. Pleanty of space for traffic to flow all around the aircraft.

I haven't said the problem will happen *only* when there not enough space, just it's the more common case, but that doesn't mean if *can't* happen if there IS enough space, the solution is always the same: adjust the parking left/right radius, until you find a value that would't result in vehicles running into each other.

Okay, will adjuster the radius and see how this works. Thanks...
