GSX service vehicles running into each other.
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:46:38 pm »
I was sitting in the middle of a parking space at EDDF in my Embraer 190, when I requested fuel. After the fuel truck finished and began to back up and leave, it ran right into the passenger loading stair truck. I had not yet asked for passengers to be loaded, so the stairs were not leaning against the aircraft.

Well, it has never happened to me before in the positions the vehicles were in, and so I'm addressing it. I guess I didn't see the other postings.

The vehicles don't really "see" each other, this would require quite a bit more of system resources to do, so the fact they don't run into each other is handled mostly by the fact they "keep the right"on the vehicle paths, so the arriving vehicles won't run into departing vehicles, and the operation timings so, there are unforeseeable situations, because time of arrival depends by the distance from the parking position from the vehicle spawn point.

Well, besides the running into each other, I was leaving Zurich, and after being pushed back, and the truck disconnected, the truck ran over his own ground guide. The funny thing is that it did it as the ground guide was waiving me off! lol :D

This shouldn't happen. Please report exactly the parking position and which pushback direction you chose.

I'll try to duplicate the scenario this afternoon, take a video clip or screenshot of the moment it happens and give you the gate information.

Gate and pusbback direction are more than enough. And which tow truck appeared ( the small non-rideable or the large one )

Okay, it happened again. I was using FSDT Zurich at gate A51. It was the small tow truck non rideable, and it turned the Airbus tail end to the left. I know you said you didn't need screenshots, but If you need them, I have them.
