I have almost all the airports, and was anticipating GSX to come out when I heard about it. I downloaded as soon as it came out, and installed it. When I go to the airports, nothing. I went into addon manager, and it says GSX trial version, and asks if I want to buy it! Buy it? I thought it was free.

What do you mean with "When I go to the airports, nothing" ? Do you expect to see anything different ? You need to call GSX to operate it, pressing its Hotkey which defaults to CTRL+F12. Have you read the manual ?

The Addon Manager will always say it's in Trial, because you haven't purchased it. But the Trial works without any limitations of any kind at all FSDT airports.

Free to use at all FSDT airports, and at the trial airports: EDDM, LIML and FlightBeam KSFO.  You purchase GSX to use it at any of the 24,000+ FSX airports (default or third party).

What on earth would make you think you'd get a free copy of GSX just for being an FSDT customer?  I'm a customer of a lot of FS developers, but I certainly don't expect something to be free because of it.

Bruce, thats not what he means, it is about being free to use at all Fsdt airports. I actually had a very similar problem as it only worked for free in a couple of my 6 Fsdt airports. I was going to buy it anyway and once I did it worked as expected: GSX works at every airport in FSX.

So, I see this case as plausible (or we both made mistakes in the installation somehow).

It doesn't recognize an FSDT airport, if you modified the name of the AFCAD that comes with it, and renamed it.

In that case, it will still work on it, without any customization, but will be treated as if it was any other airport, which means it would require purchasing GSX.

This, assuming that with "doesn't work" you mean that you saw the Trial message on an FSDT airport. If, instead, you meant something else, than it's an entirely different issue, which is best to explain better.

Bruce, thats not what he means...

May not be what he means, but it is what he says.  Last line of his post...

That was probably my issue. I corrected that (from your suggestion - thank you) once I bought it.

Maybe he has the same problem.

And Bruce, I understand, I just wanted to clarify what he probably meant although he said something else. Generally I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

To be fair, although it wasn't clearly stated, he did say he bought almost all the airports (inference FSDT airports, based on the threads title) When he went to the airports (Airports he just referenced) nothing. It doesn't seem he expected it to work at all other airports, so I have to give him the benefit of the doubt here!!!

Which is why I've first asked

What do you mean with "When I go to the airports, nothing" ?

That doesn't seem normal, so I wanted to be sure because, if you go to an airport that is not available in Trial and press CTRL+F12, a message will say you are in Trial mode, and will ask if you want to warp to one of the Trial airports, which surely isn't "nothing", but I had to ask, because it wasn't clear if by "nothing", he expected to see something happening even before pressing CTRL+F12, or with "nothing", he meant that AFTER pressing CTRL+F12, nothing happened on an FSDT airport. Which is NOT normal.
