No stairs if catering selected without deboarding
« on: February 02, 2012, 04:45:00 am »
I know that deboarding can't be later selected if catering/fuel truck is first selected, but if catering/fuel is indeed called first, the pax stairs at non-gate locations don't get rolled to the main door.  I'd suggest that if catering or fuel are called first (as in the case of starting with an empty jet not in need of deboarding) that the pax stairs get rolled up as part of the catering/fuel script when they aren't already pushed up to the jet from deboarding.

You should get the stairs in that case when you begin boarding.

Correct, they'll eventually move in with the next Boarding operation.

Understand, but in a normal sequence of events, when have you ever seen an acft getting serviced with catering/fuel/baggage without the stairs or a gateway at the main door?  The stairs would have been rolled up when the acft was deboarded from the last flight (or when the ground crew arrived at the acft to work cleaning/catering/maintenance etc)  Seeing the jet getting serviced with the stairs pulled away just looks off.
