The same error
« on: February 01, 2012, 04:43:20 am »
Hi all,

I purchased GSX within 45 minutes of its release and cannot wait to use it. I wanted to test it out so I started up at a gate tried to select "request catering services." it then proceed to display an error saying there is an unknown addon that is interfering with coualt scripting engine. I did update the stand alone manager to no avail. I had this error before with one of my sceneries and updating the stand alone manager solved it. Please help me fix this. Thanks

Ben

I had this error with only one repaint of the PMDG B737-700.
The solution as far as I remember lies in the airplane config file, something to do with the repaint part of the file and some miss configured rows there. Try the search function.

That's just a generic crash report.

The most important information for us to help understanding the problem, is (as the message says) contained in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.err file, please post its content.

Also, please provide with the following information:

- Which airport you used, if it's default or 3rd party

- Which Gate/parking you were in

ALso, be sure either GSX and/or the Stand-Alone Addon Manager are being installer AFTER any scenery. Until we update all the scenery installers with the most current code, GSX or the Addon Manager should always installed last, if you have to reinstall a scenery, reinstall the Stand-Alone Addon Manager after it.

It's possible the problem was caused by installing/reinstall a scenery after GSX, and this might have been reverted some Couatl script files to their older versions, breaking GSX.

Until we update all our sceneries installer (but you'll have to redownload all of them), it's advised that you always reinstall GSX OR the Stand-Alone Addon Manager at the end, in case you need to install or reinstall a scenery for any reason.

I have an ongoing issue. I was prompted this morning to reinstall the updated standalone manager v 2.9. After doing so I could not finish the install because of an error message. I then tried to use GSX at the FSDT airports to no avail. I then uninstalled all FSDT products. Now I'm trying to reinstall them but I can't because of this error message
" C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsdreamteam\couatl"

" C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsdreamteam\couatl"

It's not possible the error would just print a pathname, surely there must be something else.

I guess it's the access denied 5 error, there was obviously not any need to uninstall all the scenery. As discussed in many other threads, this error is caused because you launched an installer too quickly without waiting for FSX to close properly.

A Windows reboot would have fixed this.

Sorry, but that just not possible. If it's really the same error, it's because you have installed something else after the Addon Manager. Either download and install the Stand-Alone Addon Manager AFTER everything else, or reinstall GSX.

Reinstalling GSX again did the trick.
