Zurich X, ground textures problem
« on: September 07, 2011, 09:17:55 pm »
Hi,

since I installed Zurich v2 I'm experiencing this problem:

during dusk, night and dawn the ground textures are appearing like the photos below, and I can only saw the ground markings on the VC and with a circle at about 5 to 10 meters around the aircraft, like the flightdeck screen below

during the day, everything works perfect with this incredible product.. before update to v2, I did not get any problem

System: Win7 64-bit, FSX SP2 w/o acceleration, Dx10 OFF

Thanks,

Marcelo Monteiro

Nothing has changed in ground textures in the 2.0 version and, of course, dusk, night and dawn works perfectly here. Does it happen with a default airplane ?

Are you using AES maybe ? Another user has reported strange colors in the scenery, but only if AES is active.

Hi,

it happens even with the default trike aircraft, and no AES present;

if these information can help, my configs are:

display/graphics: framerate unilimited, trilinear, anti-aliasing on, global texture very high, only adv. animations checked
display/scenery: level large, mesh 100, mesh res. 1, text. res. 7, watter effects low 2x, land detail on, scen. compl. normal, autogen dens. normal, special effects high

hardware: i7-860 @ 4.0Ghz, 4 x 2 GB DDR-1333 @ 1440, nvidia gtx570

I'm sorry, I can't reproduce it, and nobody else reported it (apart for the AES issue), maybe it's a problem of your fsx.cfg, try to remove it, and let FSX recreate a new one, the file is located at %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX.

I am having the same issue or similar, but mine is has to do with the mesh... I think. It started happened after I installed FS global.

I am also having this issue, but I think I have at least found a condition which is causing it.

The ground problem is only showing up for me in Fall and Winter seasons.  Spring and Summer ground is displaying without issue at any time of day or night.

I get the same problem as James008. At dawn and night I dont get ground textures unless im looking at an obscure angle. During the day and imidietly after FSX registers that it is no longer dawn anymore I get my textures back.

Found the problem, it didn't manifest in Spring or Summer, which is why I haven't noticed...put the attached files in the fsdreamteam\ZurichX\scenery folder, and it will be fixed.

Hi Umberto,

I have the same problem so thank you for the fix. This could be an issue for everybody though, a good item for next upgrade.

Thanks,

Johan

Hello,
I have the same problem but it happened tonight (still in summer season), while you stated that spring and summer should work. Very strange indeed. Tonight I landed at LSZH using PMDG 737NGX (landing time about 8:00 pm). Taxiways not visible, except for some feet only in front of aircraft, no signs on parking stands, landing lights which illuminated the runway in a very weird way and continue to blink.
I will try tomorrow with these two files and hope to fix.
Other FS Dreamteam sceneries don't have this problem, with PMDG 737NGX also.
I'll report again a feedback. Bye.

If you don't install the files, is expected to have problems.

Well, just tried and all problems seem to be gone, but I have done a very brief test. Need to test with a complete flight including landing, taxiing through the taxiways and park to the stand of my choice.
For the moment, many thanks Umberto.
