Strange Objects At KLAX

I have attached three screenshots from a 13 hour EDDF-KLAX flight in the PMDG-11 from yesterday. Simulation rate was normal so there is no time compression. On a shorter flight KLAS-KLAX and KLAX-KLAX everything appeared normal. Any ideas?

Looks like video memory corrupted, probably because of the long flight with a complex airplane, there might be a memory leak somewhere. Do you have the HIGHMEMFIX tweak applied ?

Yes. HIGHMEMFIX is in the fsx cfg file. Plus the file was tweaked by the Jesus Bojote website. Sorry I don't have a link on this computer and I have a full windowed flight going on the computer that has the link. Sometimes I also have objects in the sky at KDFW like in image 1 and 2 when completeing a EDDF-KDFW.flight. I fly from either EHAM, EDDF, EDDM to KLAX, KSFO,and KSEA using either the MD-11 or MD-11F every other day. Flightbeam KSFO has never had objects likes this. What can you say about KSEA in ORBX PNW. You have to be ready for anything at KSEA like shrubs on the taxiways and tarmac.

It's very difficult to say how this could be fixed, especially if it's happening only on long flights, the memory leak could be anywhere, I'm afraid we simply must accept the fact that video drivers might have bugs, FSX surely have unknown bugs, or the airplane and all the sceneries and addons together might just be too much for it.

To sum it up I could say "It Is What It Is".

Thanks

I'm afraid to, to lessen the chance of these things happening, you can turn down a bit your settings. For example, on a long flight, you might turn down Scenery Complexity and Autogen, which surely are not needed during cruise, to give less chances to exhaust memory.

I have turned down Autogen and Complexity from Very Dense to Dense and maybe did something about memory leaks by contacting the guy that built this computer. He logedon to the computer and ran a program to deal with memory leaks. I will let you know how it turns out Thursday morning after a EHAM-KLAX flight.

No change from the previous flight from EDDF. As you can see I set the scenery complexity back to very dense. The next time I will try it at dense. Prior to EHAM-KLAX in the MD-11, I did a KORD-KLAX in the CS 752-200 and everything a KLAX appeared normal. I have attached an image of the Scenery Settings for your review. If you see any item that could be reduced or is incorrect let me know.

Thank you

That alone would be enough reason to discount a problem with the airport. A setting that would probably save lots of memory is the "Level of detail radius", try Medium.

Unfortunately I have done a lot of short flights into KLAX and was going to report on those but KLAX 1.1 update has pretty much made that useless. I am on a EDDM-KLAX flight right now with the three scenery setting changes you have mentioned in previous posts, I will let you know what happens.

In uninstalling KLAX 1.0, do any folders or files need to be deleted after uninstalling KLAX 1.0 by using the Control Panel>Programs and Features?

Thank you

Normally not, unless you added some files yourself to that folder, in that case the folder will not be removed.

EDDM-KLAX was completely a night flight. There were no approach lights to any of the runways on a westerly approach. The taxiways were nonexistent when I tried to go from E to C via S. I tried to get them to appear by doing what I have done at KDFW when I have had problems with the scenery. Press the Esc button and then click on continue flying in the dialogue box. This time the screen went black except for the 2D panel. I have attached a screenshot I made at KTPA about six months ago. This was what it looked like at KLAX. I have also attached a screenshot of the MD-11 on 01L at KTPA from the same flight. This shot is just for laughs.

I installed 1.1 and am doing at PANC-KLAX in the PMDG 737-800. The flight started in the afternoon and will end at night. If anything unusual occurs a KLAX I will let you know.

PANC-KLAX resulted in g3d.dll CTD a little over half distance. Probably overtop of KSEA and ORBX PNW. So I did a KLAX-KLAX in the PMDG 737-800. Approach lights were okay but look at the taxiway color in the first screenshot and no terminals in the second screenshot. How about uninstall KLAX 1.1 and answer yes to remove Addon Manager and Couatl during the uninstall process (which I didnot do when uninstalling KLAX 1.0) then install Addon Manager and KLAX 1.1. Any ideas?

I know a lot of people have had g3d.dll crashed over the ORBX PNW, me not included, but its been will documented. They said they are working on getting rid of all those calls that are looking for non-existing models and textures, but to be honest, I dont know if that would help and doesn't explain why I, who has a crappy rig by todays standards, never gets any crashes in the PNW. Personally I think it has more to do with people using too many HD 2048 or 4096 textures and putting their sliders to high and overloading their computers, even if they have new equipment.

So I did a KLAX-KLAX in the PMDG 737-800.

LAX to LAX? That's a short flight.

Was just checking the forums before I hit the sack for the night and noticed your flight; PANC (Sim Wings) to KLAS (FSDT). I did this flight this morning and had no problems using the PMDG NGX.

Wish I could help but just wanted to say it went off without a hitch.
