Oh! nice picture... and it proves the point also
But I don't have Xload installed. What we are doing is editing the airplane.cfg file to "add" external fuel tanks. That doesn't seem to model the extra weight or at least I don't feel it. Checking the AoA sounds like a nice approach.

stating the obvious, but.. editing the aircraft.cfg does model the extra weight, its the same thing as the original fuel tanks, you just have to position the extra tanks somewhere not in the middle to feel it

I would bet that configuration would take MORE THAN a few stabs at the trim button

I think the FCS should account for most of it though, maybe as it emptys the pilot would require trim input. BTW have any real Hornet drivers taken the acceleration Hornet for a spin? I think it must be quite close to the real deal.
