trackIR with webcam
« on: January 26, 2011, 12:38:28 am »
hey peeps, im running short on controls, and panning the view with hat switch sucks, so i was considering buying trackIR, but its expensive for something like that, you're only gonna use for fsx anyways, so i tried freetrack, wich you can use a webcam for head tracking, but didnt work quite well with my 2 webcams...

do you know any other softwares that can do that?

I happened to read some threads about FaceTrack software. Pros - no LEDs, no hats required. Cons - more CPU and camera demanding.

FYI: I use FreeTrack 2.2 in both 2DOF and 6DOF modes w/o any problems...

is it possible to assign a button to disable/enable freetrack from inside FSX?

There is a pause button assignment in FreeTrack already. Just make sure that key is unassigned in FSX.
