Jetway connecting at different height than stairs
« on: April 17, 2025, 09:35:53 am »
In the FSS 727-200 for MSFS 2020 the jetway is connecting well above the floor, but the gsx stairs are connecting right at the floor where they should. I've tried editing the door position in the gsx editor but it has no effect on the jetway (either gsx jetway or 3rd party scenery jetway) Seems like an issue with the plane but wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on what the issue could be, or where the jetway might be reading its data from.

I don't seem to have this issue on other aircraft. Thanks for any help or ideas.

As explained so many times in the manual and the forum and everywhere else, GSX has NO CONTROL whatsoever on where the jetway will dock to, or even if it will dock in the first place, or which door. In MSFS, jetway animation is controlled completely by the sim, GSX has no part in it.

As stated above, I'm not blaming GSX, I don't believe it is a GSX issue, however since people in here are a lot more in-tune with how the sim interacts with aircraft via jetways, I was hoping for some insight into what might be causing this or where the sim reads the levels for the jetways, that is all.

The sim reads the attach position from the airplane exit config files, but that doesn't mean that any jetway would automatically always dock there, no matter what, because it depends by many factors:

- how the jetway is made and its constraints

- how it's positioned in the scenery

- how your airplane is positioned in relationship to it

We can only say that, if you constantly see ALL jetways at ALL airports always docking at the wrong height, is likely a problem with the airplane itself. If it only happens on some airports, is likely a problem of the jetway model.
