About MSFS 2024 door selection
« on: March 14, 2025, 08:01:48 am »
Hello FSDT,

after a bit of flying around in the A350, I have found the default jetways will always try to break their neck trying to dock to door L1. It is only if L2 is right in front of its face will it dock to L2. In short, it will always aim for the closest door if it thinks it can. The last post I saw regarding this was in 2022.
As the developer, you know of this I assume. There is absolutely no way of forcing the jetways to only use L2. Correct? I tried deleting L1 door in the airplane configuration but even then, it will force itself onto L1. I guess because MSFS doesn't even look at this data if I remember correctly.

Can you think of any other way the system can be nudged towards door L2?

I got this from a video on YouTube and it works for me. I have not seen any down side to doing it so far.

In the 'Flight_model.cfg' file for the A350 go to the 'Interactive Points' and copy the second line which is door 2, to the first line which is door 1.
GSX now moves to 1L door which has been coded for 2L. Door 2L opens.

I did this for both 2020 and 2024 but I don't use 2024 as much as I am waiting for updates that make 2024 more reliable.

What I would like to see is if there are 2 jetways, that they both are used but I am ok with we have now.
