Cannot Update from GSX Pro 3.3.2 to 3.3.4
« on: February 02, 2025, 08:46:43 pm »
This problem started recently. I have MSFS 2020.
When using the either the FSDT Installer or FSDT Live Update, the following error message comes up:

Error Downloading file
C:\Program Files (x86)Addon Manager\couatl64_MSFS2024.exe: An error occurred while sending the request

Operators Thumbnails

You cancelled the Download of this package

This error message is repeated for a number of times but for different packages. The updaters finally end with a message: GSX Pro is being reconfigured or something similar.

I'm assuming that the error is related to: couatl64_MSFS2024.exe in the above path, since i don't have MSFS2024. I've tried renaming this file but the problem remains, so I'm not sure what's going on. The problem is not related to antivirus (Addon Manager folder is excluded) or Firewall (completely disabled temporarily during update attempts).

Anybody know what's going on and what can be done about it?

No, it's not. The installer will download the file anyway, even if you don't have MSFS 2024, but it's not really an issue, it will just download it, but won't use it.

Of course it's related to the antivirus, but it might not be the one in your PC (assuming you are absolutely sure the folder has been disabled), it might be an antivirus installed in your router, that has mistakenly detected the file as a threat ( Trend Micro, I'm sure ) and blocked it. Check if you have such feature in the internet router, and if yes, be sure you whitelist the virtualisoftware.com domain.
