MSFS 2024 has serious issues with LODs being extremely limited, and of course it happens with every objects, like default ground vehicles and crew, default AI, etc. We made our LODs according to the official LOD diagnostic tool, but MSFS 2024 doesn't always respect it because:
- It's affected by the Dynamic fps setting (it plays with the objects LOD slider without you knowing)
- It's way more restrict than MSFS 2020 ever was, even when making several LOD levels.
You can mitigate it by disabling the Dynamic fps setting, put the Objects LOD slider at 200, and use a more natural zoom settings of about 60-70, which is more realistic than the default too wide external cam, but it still won't be fixed entirely.
We'll try to revisit the LOD issues after the sim will be more stable and, most importantly, if those issues would be fixed on default ground vehicles, crews, AIs as well, since it's not use chasing an unpredictable LOD system that doesn't always behave as expected.
