GSX PRO MSFS 2024 Installation
« on: January 24, 2025, 09:16:18 pm »
I have MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 on two separate drives. I have a functioning GSX in MSFS 2020. I installed MSFS 2024 then ran FSDT Installer. I selected MSFS 2024 store to install GSX. It installed with version 3.3.4. When I launch MSFS 2024 I see no GSX in toolbar. The FSDT installer shows the proper Community folder for MSFS 2024. When I look into the COMMUNITY folder and compare it to what is in the Community folder for MSFS 2020, the 2024 folder has no fsdreamteam.... folders?

I have found a solution to my issue.  My Community Folder is on an External USB SSD. The drive , as purchased, has a format of EXFAT.  This format does not allow Symbolic Links, which GSX puts into the Community Folder. I had to reformat this drive as NTFS. I then did a check from the Installer, which then put the symbolic links into the Community folder. They are directory symbolic links.

The NTFS is listed in the system requirements. What puzzled me, is you were supposed to see a message from the installer, explaining you can't install if your Community folder is not on a drive formatted as NTFS.
