Pushback at night
« on: January 10, 2025, 10:01:21 am »
I frequently either start flights either before dawn or after nightfall in the SIM. At well lighted airports the pushback crew member can be seen from the cockpit. However, on some poorly lit ramps even though the crew member is in a visible position in daytime at night he/she is dark and cannot be seen. Why is the crew member not provided with some kind of light? I think the wing walkers with their batons should also be lighted on dark ramps.

Very good point, and exactly my thoughts! At night, as the dispatcher walks back to show the pin, he or she becomes extremely hard - if not impossible - to see them.

A fully functional reflective hi-viz jacket would come in handy.

Please, Umberto, do something about it. :-)

The Wing walkers DO have lit batons with dynamic lights. You don't see it ?

I have the same issue. At night I don't see the crew when they show the by-pass pin. I can only guess.

That's a completely different matter, only Wingwalkers are supposed to have lit batons, the headset operator doesn't have any lights.

However, it will be lit by surrounding lights like airport dynamic lights that are supposed to lit the apron, other nearby vehicles (GSX or not), and of course the airplane own lights, like anti-collision lights, taxi lights, etc.
