Internatinal Terminal at KORD
« on: November 24, 2024, 01:48:19 pm »
Hello all here!

Yesterday I've had a frist look onto FSDT's KORD with MSFS 2024. Good looking stuff - with the complete international terminal.

Any chance to get this one with MFS 2020 as well? The version numbers are the same :-)

Thanks - cheers!

Bert

I think you are seeing some mixup with the default. We haven't modeled the new terminal extension yet, let alone all the changes to parking spots and taxiways.

I wanted to ask if there's any update on the KORD scenery, particularly regarding the new terminal extension and taxiways. I remember you mentioned that updates would come after MSFS 2024's release for both 2020 and 2024 versions.

I understand it hasn’t been done yet, but I’m curious if this is still in the plans.

I remember you mentioned that updates would come after MSFS 2024's release for both 2020 and 2024 versions.

After doesn't mean "immediately after", it only means "surely not before". And back then, we had no idea about the level of compatibility between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, we only had Microsoft words to rely on.

However, now that it has been released, we have more data available, and it appears that making a native MSFS 2024 airport is way more work than expected, but at the same time there are issues with backward compatibility that won't make it feasible to keep it for MSFS 2020 and just fix compatibility with 2024 AND update it at the same time, considering the real life situation (especially with taxiways), changes like multiple times per month. There's just no airport so big and that moves so fast like this one, it's really an unique case.

So yes, the update is planned but, we don't have any release date, and can't even ensure it will ever be released for both MSFS 2020 and 2024, most likely it will be 2024 only, and only after the MSFS 2024 general stability issues will be fixed.
