Version 3.1.1 update issue

After updating to version 3.1 when I start msfs and then open fsdt installer I get an error message that says you cannot update fsdt installer while running msfs. But I've already updated fsdt installer for gsx prior to opening it then closed it and started msfs. I've un-installed fsdt installer for gsx and reinstalled it still same error message. I'm only able to open the installer when msfs is not running.

Why you are reporting this is as a problem ? The message is correct, and the problem was that *before* the installer failed to alert you about that, like it always did for FSX or P3D. We just fixed the installer bug that it didn't alert you of not updating with MSFS.

Fact you were able to do so (because the installer didn't check) didn't mean it was safe to do so, especially after having added seated passengers, which need to modify not only GSX own files in the Community folder, but also other airplanes too, it became even more important to verify you don't do the mistake of updating with the sim opened, because ever change of any file in the Community folder requires restarting the sim, and this is of course common knowledge.

I did not update gsx pro with the sim open. I stated in my initial message that I did not update gsx pro with the sim open. This response is alluding to me updating gsx with the sim open which I did not do and never have done. I updated gsx pro with the sim CLOSED. After it finished i closed gsx pro and opened the sim to play. Now my issue is once I run MSFS and it's open I cannot open gsx pro. The message reads you cannot update the gsx pro while the sim is running. I'm not attempting to update it I'm attempting use it. I've always ran msfs first and then opened gsx pro to play. Is that no longer the case?

If you got a message that you cannot run the FSDT Updater when the sim is running, it means the sim WAS running, no question about it. Sometimes, the simulator takes longer to close and, in some cases it doesn't really close so, even if you think the sim wasn't running, it was.
