Why these heinous circa 1980 taxiway lines done like this?

Can't imagine why but these look wretched compared to pretty much anywhere else.  Are others seeing this--the low budget jagged aliased black borders on the yellow lines....



Well, I just saw this is not the only airport with this.  Is it perhaps emulating something used in the RW?
