GSX causing sim to Freeze

Hello! So I am not having CTD issues which I know GSX doesn't cause. I really don't know what is causing the issue I am having so hopefully someone can give some guidance. I haven't had any issues with the sim or GSX for months now. Today, I loaded into the sim, grabbed the PMDG 737-700 and spawned into an airport. The loading screen sat there for 20-25 mins. When it finally showed the flight deck, the yellow Ready to Fly button was there but it would not allow me to click it. After 15 mins, I had to use task manager to exit the sim. Attempt 2, got back into the sim, selected the CRJ and spawned into the another airport. It loaded quickly and allowed me to select Ready to Fly. Selected GSX and the screen was stuck on Loading. Check Couatl and it was running so I restarted it. Selected GSX again and would not go past the loading screen. Ok, let me completely restart the computer and sim. Attempt 3, grabbed the PMDG again and spawned into the airport. Again took a long time to load and this time I let it sit at Ready to Fly to see how long it would take to allow me to select it. Finally after about 23 mins, I was able to select Ready to Fly but something wasn't right. My normal panel state is ColdDarkGPU but the GPU wasn't there. Ok let me select it from the FMS. Go to select it, and everything freezes. For troubleshooting purposes, I exit Couatl and after a few mins, the aircraft allowed me to select a GPU. Restarted Couatl and tried to open GSX and it stuck at the loading screen again.

I am unsure if its an issue between GSX and PMDG or GSX, PMDG, and/or the sim. Anyone out there seen or is currently seeing the same issue?

Update: If I unlink GSX from the community folder, the sim and my 3rd party addons run just fine. Once it's relinked and I try to spawn into the sim with a PMDG aircraft, it seems that Couatl gets into a restarting cycle and causes the sim to load something every 10 secs. I have attached the updated files for reference but I am not seeing a Couatl.log file. Maybe because it never actually gets going?

You are missing the most important log, the one for the Couatl program, which you can obtain by enabling logging. Check the Sticky thread on this forum "How to report an error" OR the manual at Page 34, paragraph named "Enable logging when GSX can’t even start" and attach the Couatl.LOG file.

Also, check this thread here, because two users reported their continuing restarts were caused by having changed the properties for the Couatl .EXE to run as Admin (which is not how we install it and it's not required), and fixed it by setting it back to normal:

Thank you for responding to my issue. I did see those other sticky posts that you referenced. For the couatl.log file, I assumed since there was already a couatl_MSFS.ini file in my virtuali folder, I didn't need to create a new one. I can definitely do that though. Do I need to relink GSX and get into the sim before I start the Couatl program or just do one now for you? Just want to ensure I get you everything you need correctly. Also as far as checking the "Run as Admin" for Couatl64, I did that over the weekend and I do not have that box checked. Finally, as an extra piece of info, last Tuesday everything ran fine. One Wednesday, the mandatory update for WU16 came out and after that is when the sim starting running weird with GSX.

Hopefully something pops out for you when you get the log file. I miss using your program.

Just let me know which process you would like me to get the file. With GSX unlinked or GSX linked and running the sim.

Your log just shows the sim disconnected (likely crashed) and the Couatl program correctly detect the problem and exited cleanly.

That is only what the log showed when the GSX program was stuck at loading. I was the one that closed the sim because nothing was working. I noticed when the sim starts up and I am at the main screen, the log shows a lot of data. Once I am in a flightdeck, it shows what I sent you. I have had GSX unlinked from my community folder since Saturday and the sim runs without a problem. The minute I link it and try to use it, the sim slows way down and GSX is stuck at loading. The only thing I did was download the mandatory WU16 update. Is there anything else i can try? I want to use the program I paid for since it was introduced for MSFS. Can I send you the log when MSFS initially loads? Why does the Couatl boot log show it continually restarting?

I know you have told other people that uninstalling and reinstalling will not change anything but is that something I could try?

That's unheard of, and you can be sure it's not caused by GSX. You can TRY removing this folder (if your version is the MS Store version):

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\fsdreamteam-gsx-pro

Or this folder, if your version is Steam:

%APPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\fsdreamteam-gsx-pro

These are not folders we create, they are created by the sim automatically at startup, so a problem with these files is the ONLY possible reason I can think of that might prevent the sim from running "just" because GSX is installed.
