Ground crew seated OUTSIDE of push back tractor
« on: January 15, 2025, 11:51:07 am »
I find that sometimes the ground crew are seated OUTSIDE of the pushback tractor. Sometimes a few metres above (as per the attached screenshot), and sometimes behind the tractor. Often the problem occurs at the start of pushback, and then the driver instantly returns to correctly within the tractor at the termination of pushback. I'm currently using the Black Square Turbine Duke, but I also fly the Fenix A320 ... and the problem occurs at numerous airports. The current screenshot is at Madrid LEMD) - Gate T23. Can you please advise, thank you.

It's possible the scenery added details (like those cars or possibly the terminal) have collision boxes, and they alter the ground altitude in that place. That's why GSX has the ability to set a custom start position for all vehicles, so they won't conflict with static objects details in the airport.

Thanks, but I do not have any addon scenery.

In any case, part of the GSX items (tractor) are sitting on the ground, yet the other part of the GSX process (the driver) is sitting up in the air, or behind the tug at some airports.

Thanks, but I do not have any addon scenery.

When I said "the scenery added details", I wasn't referring specifically to an add-on scenery, but simply any scenery that has added details, and that's include default scenery objects, which also have collision boxes that might intersect with GSX objects, causing the ground altitude *there* to change.

As I've said, that's why GSX has the ability to set a custom start position for all vehicles, so they won't conflict with static objects details in the airport.

Thanks, I hear you, but this happens at so many airports when I'm operating the BE60 Duke ... and it's ALWAYS from the moment pushback movement starts, til the moment the pushback movement stops - so I'm at a loss to work that one out. So, to me, it doesn't really seem related to what you're saying - and sometimes the driver stays at the same level and simply moves backwards out of the tractor, other times (less often) the drive moves upwards out of the the tractor.

Those are completely separated issues. The fact is not longitudinally aligned using small truck might be something we can fix. The altitude issue is another issue entirely, which I explained.

Thanks, much appreciate you looking into this. The longitudinal alignment is the error I mostly encounter. Kind regards, John.
