Can I temporarily deactivate Couatl and AddonManager?
« on: May 31, 2010, 02:34:47 pm »
Hi all,

as the subject says: can I temporarily deactivate the Couatl engine and the AddonManager (running FSX AccPack under Windows 7 64bit)?

I have some SimConnect concerns possibly related to another addon that I want to track down. And to identify the problem I want to disable all programs making use of or being addressed by SimConnect. Is there an easy way to "switch off" the activities of the AddonManager and the Couatl engine temporarily?

As I own all FSDT airports (they're fantastic!!!) I don't want to uninstall everything just for testing purposes. So it would be great if someone could give me a hint how to proceed.

Thanks a lot.

in the DLL.XML and EXE.XML files, there's a <Disabled> tag that can be set to True or False, which is meant to do just what you are asking: diagnose potential conflicts between multiple modules, without having to uninstall them.

They are both located in the following folder:

%APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX

Thanks a lot for your answer. I'll give it a try.
Although it seems that it has nothing to do with these components.

I'm looking forward to your next scenery. Keep up the good work.
Cheers
