Yes, the problem happened with airplanes that DO have an intelliscene.cfg file and are not supported internally by GSX and don't have a custom GSX profile either (developer-provided or user made).
While you wouldn't want to use an airplane configured this way to begin with, because GSX today is way more advanced than it was when AES was still a thing, so it really can't work properly with "just" an intelliscene.cfg file, I agree the error is annoying and it will of course fixed in the next update.
