Terminal 5 Gate number
« on: April 21, 2010, 11:03:50 pm »
For some reason, I can't see any of the gate numbers for the Jet Blue gates at terminal 5. All the other gates have number signs, but these don't show. I am not using compatibility mode and am running Active Sky X.

You don't see gate numbers, simply because we haven't put it there...

The issue is: gate numbers at T5 are surely indicated on the jetways (as far I can gather from recent pictures), but we are not sure how they are and if they are also repeated on the actual building. Don't forget that, when we released JFK, T5 wasn't open yet!

Putting gate numbers on animated jetways can be very costly in performances, because an individual different model would be needed, just to differentiate them by the number, so that wasn't an option. And, missing any better documentation on the building, which surely wasn't available in any case when the scenery was in developement, we prefer not to "invent" anything, and simply don't put any numbers.

If anyone has updated pictures of T5, that would show if gate numbers are also on the building facade and in this case, how they look like, and would be so kind to send them to us, we might consider an upgrade.

Ok, thanks. I gotta say, I think an update that simply added them to building would be an alright bend on realism.

Is there any chart identifying the gate numbers I could look at? This makes park me impossible to use at T5, which is an issue.

Note, the parking used in the AFCAD uses a different numbering than real life, because of limitation in the AFCAD naming system ( like having a Terminal with a number, and 2 set of gates from A1...Axxx and B1...Bxxx, and JFK has it ) so, you have to use the ParkMe menu, which lists both the numbers used in the AFCAD and the real world numbering.
