Sent private message not visible

I received a PM about help with GSX and sent a reply this morning.

But I cannot see my sent message. The option just shows nothing sent but the text above the received message shows I did reply to it. But how do I see it?

Very frustrating as I wanted to copy the text as an aid.

The option to retain a copy of sent messages was unticked!! 

Why? Surely the logical option is to enable it and leave users to decide if they want it or not.

I've lost useful info I'm going to have to recall again and write down.
