Problem when selecting main menu option 7 (Operate Stairs)
« on: March 26, 2023, 06:51:05 pm »
I have a problem when selecting main menu option 7 (Operate Stairs). If I select Operate Stairs and select a handling operator, the stairs appear at the ramp away from the plane but the coualt engine seems to freeze or crash and won't continue unless I restart the engine it doesn't seem to gracefully restart as per error message.

Please advise. Thanks

See error below:

TIMEOUT: GSX checkAirplane STALL

This message indicates something that simply shouldn't happen: the simulator has stopped to communicate with GSX for more than 60 seconds, which of course is not normal, since a normal communication happens at least once a second, if not more, depending on the case.

This triggers an automatic restart, so we are to another thing that shouldn't happen, according to your report, not even the restart succeeded, most likely because if Simconnect was stuck in the previous session, it wouldn't connect at all on restart, making it failing as well.

The only possible cases in which this can happen we have reports of are:

- The antivirus/firewall is blocking the communication between GSX the Simconnect. Configure the antivirus and add the whole Addon Manager folder to the antivirus EXCLUSIONS to fix this, run another FSDT Live Update, and be sure no firewall is interfering.

- Other add-ons are causing Simconnect to stop responding. Most common cause of this problem is the maximum number of Simobjects allowed in the sim (currently 1000) has been reached, usually because of too many AI injected by AI traffic products, which will result in Simconnect stop responding after a while. If you use such packages, either reduce the density of AI airplanes and/or disable Injection.
