How to load an custom ramp
« on: February 09, 2023, 10:04:10 pm »
Hi how can I load a ramp with custom vehicles from the fly menu? I customized a departure ramp in Los Angels the 321 but when I start the flight it always loads the ramp with vehicles on the ground as by default, indeed as the first GTX menu it only puts the runway I want to take off from and asks me for the follow car.
Thank you

You can't.

The vehicles you see when starting a flight are not GSX vehicles. Sure, this might sound strange to say, because they look like GSX vehicles because, of course, GSX replaced default MSFS ground vehicles too but, for all intent and purpose, they still are default ground vehicles, which are controlled entirely by the simulator, which doesn't know anything about your GSX customization.

After you start GSX and select a gate, those vehicles will be replaced by proper GSX vehicles ( again, looking the same, but controlled by GSX ), so they'll appear according to your customization.

Thanks for the reply, when I customize a gate and save it the file is in the right position: C/User/Your Name/Appdata/Roaming/virtuali/GSX/MSFS But when I start a new flight in the same gate I can't find the various vehicles as I have arranged them but as they were at the origin.  So it doesn't load the saved file

I suggest reading my previous reply more carefully, which explains exactly why your GSX customization cannot be loaded until AFTER you start GSX and select a gate from the GSX menu.

Starting a flight from the Main Menu and selecting a gate doesn't start GSX or select a gate in GSX so, the initial vehicles are *default* MSFS vehicles that starts on their own default positions, placed by the simulator, which cannot possibly know anything about your GSX profile, only GSX does but, as I've said, in order to do that, it need to be called and you need to select a gate from its own menu.

Very kind, how do I select the gate from the GSX menu?  Do I have to open the customize airport menu again?  and where can i find it?  Thanks for your patience, but the manual does not explain how to load a custom gate on a subsequent flight.

You only need to select a gate, if you are not already inside one. If you are inside one, as soon as you open the GSX menu there, with parking brakes on and engines off, the GSX vehicles will be then replace the default ones, following your customization.

This is the basic how GSX works, and it surely explained in the manual.

The manual doesn't need to explain how to load a custom gate, because there's nothing different to do compared to a non-customized one.

nothing to do when I customize the position and press enter to exit it always loads me the screen to choose the ramp to customize and I go back to the starting point. Furthermore, when I start a new flight from the same ramp instead of the complete GSX menu, I only have the choice of which runway to take off from and if I want the follow car.

That's normal if you use the "customize airport positions" when you are not already parked there so, you are offered to edit, then when you exit the editor, you'll be back where you were before.

That indicates you are not on the ramp, but outside of it.

I'm sorry for not being able to understand and create inconvenience.  But I always choose ramp 321 of the same airport, could you link me a simple video on how to save the changes, in fact I can move all the objects to the desired position, but as explained several times when I return to the flight, the layout of the objects and how at the beginning, without midifiche maybe it's a bug or I miss some step in exiting the customization menu.

There's no need to make a video to explain something that is done automatically when you exit the editor.
