Suggestion: Set arrival gate during cruise

It would be nice if it was possible to set the arrival gate anytime during cruise.

The limitation to do that only below 10000 ft has been lifted recently but that doesn't help a lot because the 30 nm radius limitation is still there. So the arrival gate can only be selected when already in a 30nm range to the destination.

Now that GSX reads from the simbrief flightplan - thus knows the destination airport -, wouldn't it be possible to choose the arrival gate for the planned destination airport anytime during cruise?

I believe the current 30 mile is to keep it at a more realistic pace. Gate change frequently in real life. Last minute late departures and what not. I see what you are saying though.
