Hi,

maybe I've done wrong, but trying to use GSX for pushback fails with my GA Realair Duke in P3D 4.5 HF3.
The checklist demands the engine start early in the procedure (no APU, no GPU), so I set GSX "engine start before pushback".

Then I started ground handling by Ctrl-F12 (boarding), then started the engines and proceeded with my checklist.
Then I call the GSX pushback tug and two gentleman came with the tug, prepared the pushback, then waited...

Now I asked ATC something (Pilot2ATC voice recognition, works with FSUIPC) and the GSX menu disappeared
and I found no solution to show it again. Ctrl-F12 states that I cannot get ground services with running engines.
By Windows alt-tab I found a small white empty window with a black boarder outside P3D but nothing can be typed in.

So is there any button or setting to either get back the GSX pushback window or ignore the started engines ?
Or another method to get ground services or pushback while the enginges are running ?
Or what did I wrong ?

What's the name of that window you found ?

Sorry for late answer.
The window hasn't a name, it is outside of P3D, it is empty with a height of about two lines of text.
It's white with a small black border line around it.
I don't know if it's related to GSX but I think so as it only appeared since I tried the pushback.

I have few time at the moment but will try the pushback again and write down what happened exactly.

Just some question regarding my problem as I found no hint in the manual:

Is it necessary to do the whole Ground Services procedure
in the order that the GSX menu states ?
So "engine start before pushback" means:
I have to do the GSX menu points but can start the engine before I
select the pushback option ?

And why does the pushback crew - after some minutes,
while I prepare the GA aircraft - just hang around and I cannot get them to work ?

The next time I fly, I will stop the engines at this point and try to
call the Ground Services again.

Tried again with GA for Realair Duke.
  • Switch on battery
  • Ctrl+Shift+F12 for Ground Services, ordered "Catering"
  • meanwhile continued checklist - with engine start very early in the process
  • After engine start, continued with checklist (radios, instruments, ...)
  • called ATC for taxi clearance, ok, given
  • Ctrl-Shift-F12 : "Bong" - message that ground services are possible only after engine start

I have checked "Pushback after engine start" in the GSX aircraft definition menu.

Somebody may shed some light how to operate smaller GA aircrafts by GSX.
Is it possible at all to do a pushback by GSX for GA (without GPU/APU) ?
Is it necessary to do all the GSX steps shown by Ctrl-Shift-F12 (way to much for GA) ?

  • Ctrl-Shift-F12 : "Bong" - message that ground services are possible only after engine start

Are you sure about that ? The message should say the opposite, that NO ground service are available until you STOP the engines.

Sorry for long delay.

Maybe you're right and the message wants me to shutdown the engine.
But I cannot see any sense in first preparing the aircraft
(with early engine start for battery reasons),
then stop the engines to get ground services.

But what means the "Pushback after engine start" button ?
And isn't it possible to prepare a small business aircraft including engine start,
then get a follow-on-car to the runway ?

The follow-on car is the only thing I need - not sure if I get 120 passengers over a gate
to the small door of my Duke  ;)
