Parking isolated: cannot reposition aircraft
« on: December 25, 2022, 01:11:40 am »
I had the bad luck to select an isolated parking in CYCR, and GSX complained about that. All fine, it's right for the ground services not to be available, but the problem is that I cannot even use the GSX functionality to reposition the aircraft at another gate/parking. The only way is to go back to the MSFS main menu. Is this intentional?

Are you sure about that airport code ?

CYCR doesn't seem to exist and, in fact, a common reason of seeing the isolated parking message from GSX, is auxiliary airports or seaplane bases or helipads that some developers place nearby or inside a big airport, using fake ICAO codes, which might confuse GSX if they are closer to your actual position than the airport center. There's a way to exclude these from GSX, explained at Page 64 of the manual.

If that's not the case, there might be other reasons for the parking isolated message, for example not having disabled the GSX jetway replacement files for an airport you have a 3rd party add-on for, or GSX reading the wrong .BGL ( this is only valid if you are not using the SU10 Navdata API option), but of course it can also be the parking is REALLY isolated in the scenery, in this case is only something the scenery developer can fix.

In any case, yes, if you are located on an isolated parking, the only option is to restart the flight, we might improve this in the future, and at least letting you to reposition, since there's no way GSX could use an isolated parking spot, since it won't be able to call any vehicles if the parking is not connected to the airport taxiway layout.
