Brakes hot after push prior to disconnect of the tug
« on: September 23, 2022, 12:57:12 pm »
Hi,

Second flight after SU10, with Fenix, my brakes got really hot (more than 1000 celsius degrees), I noticed that the main wheel was rolling against the ground while the aircraft was still attached to the tug.

Don’t know if it’s due to the new ground frictions added with SU10.

Haven’t noticed that during my second flight.

Hopefully I was able to fix that through the maintenance menu.

Here is a clip

Thanks

Since the brakes temperature is an internal system in the Fenix (there's no such variable in the sim and, even if there was, it won't likely be writable), there's nothing we can do to prevent this from our side.

What Fenix can do, is to detect being pushed by GSX (there's a publicly documented variable for that), and pause/stop any of its internal simulations that might be affected by it.

Yes, I guessed that GSX was not directly changing the brakes temperature variable.

It's the fact that the aicraft main gear was rolling with the tug still attached, for some reason.

The temporary solution could be to pushback with the lifting type and not with the towbar type. The lifting type releases the aircraft much quicker, and temp goes up only about 80C deg and smartCARS doesn't see it as a rejected takeoff...
Is it a possible way to set for Fenix to be pushed only with the lifting type vehicle?

Thank you! :)

I have only seen this happen once with the Fenix. No idea why.

Question for those of you who do see this, are you resetting this circuit breaker before you fly? I do every time. Maybe this is why I do not see it?

Some users reported this happens when using FSRealistic "Ambient Wind" option enabled, and can be fixed by disabling it.
