Estimating passengers ticbox option
« on: October 24, 2022, 07:40:14 pm »
Airport: KORD for MSFS
Aircraft PMDG 737 800
Exclude Third Party enabled
Call for catering
Call for boarding
From the manual on estimating the number of passengers:
"If this option is disabled, GSX will always ask confirmation from the user about the
number of passengers onboard. If the option is enabled, GSX will estimate the pas-
senger number automatically, without asking confirmation. By default, the option
is enabled, which mimics the standard behavior GSX always had until this version"

I disabled the option and it is not ticked in the settings box. I exited the programs and rebooted and when I called for boarding there was no confirmation of passenger number. It listed the default number as before.

I am trying to shorten the boarding and luggage loading process by specifying a fewer number of passengers.

This is not working for MSFS. It always estimates the pax according to the payload.

Although I would welcome this option for MSFS too.

Quoting from the manual, at Page 27:

Quote
Estimate passengers number
This option is only relevant on FSX/P3D. In MSFS, the default is to always Estimate the passengers number, because we added Simbrief integration, for a more realistic and precise set of the passenger number.

Yeah, but if you don't use Simbrief, you're a bit screwed here.

Yeah, but if you don't use Simbrief, you're a bit screwed here.

You surely aren't "screwed", you are just getting a less accurate number of passengers based on the airplane payload, but nothing that affects anything in the simulation, since GSX passengers are only visual, it's not as if they affect the actual payload.

If you want to be accurate, just use Simbrief.

I understand now about the confirm  option not applying to MSFS. Did not see that in the manual. Having gone through some loading of passengers, its not that big a deal anymore, as the process is in reality pretty quick even with a full load. I thought once the baggage loaders loaded up and then left and returned with a second loading, but I am not seeing that anymore.

Explain how having the passenger number not 100% accurate if it's based on the payload instead of Simbrief, translates into "being screwed", considering the passengers in GSX don't have any effect on the airplane actual weight and are just a visual thing ?
