After hours tweaking and trying a variety of solutions I finally saw the GREEN Simbrief button my GSX menu. For me what made the difference was turning the Simbridge Auto Connect setting to OFF and then manually hitting the IMPORT menu on the pilots tablet after I have imported INIT DATA in the MCDU.
