Request for PMDG 737-800
« on: August 25, 2022, 03:37:18 am »
Hi, as the 737-800 just came out, I am requesting that we get a profile for it as it appears we are still not able to create them ourselves yet.

I'm positive FSDT will supply one like they did for the -700.

Hi everyone,

I managed to be able to save my edits on the gsx.cfg file for the 737-800. Try and past this one in C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Roaming\virtuali\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800. I'm still working on it but it is pretty functional. At the moment I haven't had any custom checks for the doors-

WIP- :D

I just updated using the offline file that says it now supports the 737-800 but when loading in at KCLT in the cargo area the boarding stairs are still too far forward and way too high for me.
And it still won't let me save a custom setting for the airplanes.  The "save" button is greyed out and not useable.

Has anyone else noticed that the update doesn't work for the BBJ? I wonder if it has to do with PMDG forgetting to make sure that the 738 shows applications is a -800 and not a -700.

Report yesterday in a different thread, Umberto indicated that the passenger versions were a priority and the cargo version profiles will be added soon. With luck, we can hope that will be today.

I tested the BBJ2 yesterday right after I tested the pax version and it seemed to be working fine for me. Catering doors lined up, stairs lined up. Baggage loaders lined up. Maybe try running the updater again?

Sorry for the "noob" question, but I am fairly new w/ GSX Pro. On the 737 (700 and 800 variant) I always get a staircase that loads on the right aft side, even though no one ever uses it. How do I remove this so it doesn't come each time I start boarding?

I think there’s two ways to do it - the better way would be to customize particular parking places and gates with jetways by clicking the box that indicates no stairs for that position. The other way - which might be less realistic - might be to try to use the Customize Plane option, click on the L Aft passenger doo and change the door type to “No door at this location.”

I do wish there was a global GSX option we could enable that would suppress all stairs at any airport location that also has a jetway. Maybe it’s a European thing? But I’ve never seen stairs at any American airport gate that also has a jetway.

It's not an European thing, there is no stairs when you have the jetway here as well  :)

Hello, after the latest update, the stairs on the 737-800 are correctly recognised. However, I am asked to open the doors of the PMDG in a continuous loop, although they are already open and I cannot start the boarding. Anyone else have the same problem or a solution?

Hey Acxiss --

I am not having the continuous loop issue in PMDG 737-800. I do get asked to close the doors (baggage, etc.) after it's finished, but once I close them, they're done.

For what its worth, maybe try installing via the offline installer again, just to double check. I've been doing that daily (no idea if that's what we're supposed to do for now)

I have different story: they asked me to open baggage door even if the doors are opened. They cannot finish operation because GSX not recognize opened doors  :-\
