And yes, I have been reading the forums and have read all the problems others have reported, and yet you still will not admit there is a problem.

Nobody has YOUR problem.
And you are wrong saying I don't "admit there's a problem". What problem ? As I've said, multiple times, there are some minor problems we are fully aware of, mostly related to changes in handling the ground altitude, but nothing as obvious as yours.

Of course, I cannot replicate it and nobody else reported it but, instead of providing "evidence" in form of screenshots, which are even a bit offensive to me ( together with yoru usage of the word "evidence" ), as if you were implying I don't "believe you", which is clearly not the case.

Instead of screenshots, you should have posted something like your startup log, that MIGHT contain some hint about what is really happening.

I'm so relieved that nobody else has my problem, I must have misunderstood other posts.

The evidence I provided in the form of screenshots do help to explain what's happening, as they say a picture paints a thousand words. So I can't see why you feel they are offensive, it was being used to explain my situation, admittedly I should have included the log as well, which was an oversight on my behalf.

I have gone through all the previous steps as before to see if I can replicate the problem with the add-on entries disappearing and none of the GSX menus coming up in P3D and the results were the same. I would like to say that prior to around about the time of the MSFS release everything was working perfectly and had been for years, it only all went wrong when I ran a live update.

Over the years I have updated P3D and GSX on multiple occasions and this kind of thing has never happened before it has always been straightforward.

Since then I have completed multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of GSX but cannot get it to work, I do have MSFS installed on my PC but am not using GSX with that, only P3D. Nothing else on my system has changed since GSX was working properly.

Your log shows GSX regenerated the airport cache and it apparently completed it, but then the simulator crashed or stopped communicating with GSX, so it assumed it must have crashed.

Has the sim really crashed ?

Is the cache being regenerated each time, or your log shows the regeneration just because you just the updater before ? It's normal it would regenerate the airport cache in that case, but if it's always regenerated, it's not normal.

Basically, do you still get the same log if you just start it again, without doing anything ?

Hi,

The sim hadn't crashed after loosing the GSX menus it still worked fine. I'm not sure what you mean about the cache being regenerated each time (if you are referring to the Scenery Library cache, it is set to "Empty cache on exit").

I have included the following log files:

1 Coualt.txt - For this there was no previous Coualt.log file as I had renamed it to send on my previous post so this was a newly generated one, all I did here was to start P3D let it fully load and settle for a couple of minutes and then exited without doing anything.

2 Coualt.txt - Again a newly generated log but on this occasion after the sim had loaded and settled I clicked on "Show GSX Menu by-passing YouControl", the menu failed to appear and so after a period of time I checked to see if the sim was still active by clicking on one button within the loaded cockpit and it reacted as expected indicating the sim had not frozen. I then exited P3D and this is the attached log file.

If you require me to carry out other tests i'm more than happy to do so.

I will try again...after all this thread is about whether we can update or not.

Dear Umberto,
Please confirm we can now safely update GSX for P3D v5, the update won't make things worse again.
Thank you.

This is a bug that I have also. There is also an uncontrolled camera movement when in cockpit view using Chaseplane when using the smaller tug. The other bug associated with the heavy tug is no animation of the nose lifting but a jerky slew type movement before and after the pushback.

This cannot possibly caused by GSX. Not only nothing in the camera view has changed, but GSX cannot affect cameras created by other add-ons.

The camera view is not a big issue. It just wasn't an issue before all the other problems showed up. The extra wing walker showing up with the heavy tug is definitely a new bug.

I will try again for the 3rd time, maybe this time I will get a reply.

Dear Umberto,
Is it now "safe" to update GSX through the live updater or is it still broken?
Thank you

The Live Update has never been "broken", of course, there are still some issues left, which are being looked at, and some changes some users don't like, but in P3D V5 there aren't any major problems.

Of course, the definition of "major" and "broken" is so highly subjective, than I can only suggest to make a backup of the whole Addon Manager folder, and judge it yourself.

My GSX was working perfectly fine, now I am experiencing constant random coualt crashes without the possibility to restart, I hate these annoying voiceovers, Fslabs interaction is totally messed now, sode vgds are not working on arrival, deboard crew popup window. could you please share the pre-august update version? at least until this one fixed.

Thank you Umberto for your reply, although it does not fill me with confidence if you are suggeating I should make a backup....

Just to jump on this as well, I too am having random Coutal crashes. GSX jetways don't even appear anymore. I've tried restarting/reinstalling/updating Windows/excluding the entire Addon folder from antivirus/disabling antivirus and restarting. Clearly something is very wrong with the latest iteration of GSX update. I hope it can be fixed soon please!
