PMDG 737-700 & Tank
« on: August 24, 2022, 04:46:09 pm »
If I call the tank truck via GSX then it also comes and I select the simbrief option for filling.
But it does not start to fill up (animation with the Underground Tanker) What am I doing wrong?

I posted in another thread regarding fueling animation for the PMDG, but yeah I'm having the same issue.

As already explained multiple times, there's no fuel animation at all on the 737, the airplane wing is just too low to allow the animated vehicle with a raising platform to be used there, so there will be no animation.

We'll add a different animation which won't use the platform and will have the crew attaching the fuel hose by standing on a ladder in an upcoming update.

I had changed the tank point of the PMDG 737-700 a little bit to the outside of the wing and so that it is the height of 3,40m. It worked there 2 days ago. Yesterday, however, it did not.
When I click on the data integrated by simbrief in the menu which appears when the underground tank truck arrives, nothing happens. If I then manually enter the desired amount of fuel in the FMS on the "Fuel" page, it immediately drives away, because it then recognises for sure that the tank is full.

You are not supposed to see that page, because in our internal config, the PMDG is flagged to use its own internal fuel system so you must have changed it, but you shouldn't, because the PMDG MUST be refueled by itself!

Yes, if you want to see the animation, you can move out the refueling point high enough but mind, that height depends on the airplane weight. Internally, is stored in relative units from the airplane static CG but, so the weight when you edited it doesn't matter but, if the airplane the 2nd time was heavier than the 1st time, the refueling point might have be just below the 3.40 threshold, so there will be platform raising and no crew animation.

But don't worry, we ARE working on a new animation which will be used with all planes lower than 3.50 mt. and will be so good you will never want to use the platform again...

Thanks for your quick reply :-)
But I have somehow unconsciously changed that. How can I undo this so that it is normal again?

Uncheck the "show fuel and cargo" setting.
