I have tried several re-installs, running couatl as admin and even updating the engine and i am still getting this error when at default airports. I haven't ever had this issue with P3D, is there a plan to fix this?

You made this log with the standard version, likely because you updated, so it overwrote the testing version I linked before. Download it again and try again making a log.

Hi, is there some explanation of where GSX looks for the user.cfg file? I've tried looking in where I've found online, but I don't actually have a user.cfg, or any files, in the folder in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\, just the empty folder structure. Is this perhaps the issue?

It is under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator for me

Yes for Steam version the UserCfg file it's under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator (the same as %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator)

otherwise is in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
(or %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache)

Hi, I've actually managed to fix the issue.
I had previously installed MSFS using Xbox Game Pass, but then uninstalled and reinstalled via Steam.
When I uninstalled from the Microsoft Store ir left behind the previous file structure in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\, but empty. It seems GSX looked for the UserOpt.cfg in this file, but didn't move onto the steam install location for MSFS after it discovered the Micrtosoft one existed.
When I deleted the entire file structure from the old install it imediately worked.

check to see if you have this: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe. If you do delete it.
